John R Fetcher Hydroelectric Plant

Stagecoach Reservoir and Dam incorporated the first hydroelectric power plant in Northwest Colorado. The John R Fetcher Hydroelectric Plant, certified as the first producer of “green power” in the United States, generates 5 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy each year. This is enough electricity to power approximately 500 homes.

The turbine-generator is rated at 800 kilowatts and runs continuously with a minimum amount of attention.
